    Smart home installation Las Vegas

JDM Automations provides smart home installation in Las Vegas for homes and businesses, also serving Henderson, Summerlin and North Las Vegas, starting with a free on-site consultation.

Smart home automation is only worth it when everything works together. We bring lighting, climate, locks, shades, cameras and entertainment onto one platform in Las Vegas homes, so a single app — or a single voice command — actually controls the house.

Smart home installation Las Vegas: planning your installation

Most homes accumulate smart devices one at a time: a thermostat here, a doorbell there, a couple of bulbs, a lock. Each arrives with its own app and none of them talk to each other. The result is more friction than the old switches ever caused.

Integration is the actual service. We work across Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter and Thread, and bring devices onto a single platform with Amazon Alexa, Google Home or Apple HomeKit control on top. For larger homes and more demanding installations we install RTI control systems, which give a properly designed interface rather than a grid of icons.

    Automation That Suits the Desert

Climate and light drive most of the useful automations here. Smart thermostats from Ecobee, Nest and Honeywell with remote sensors even out the temperature difference between rooms that get afternoon sun and rooms that do not, and scheduling takes advantage of the swing between daytime heat and cooler nights.

Motorized shades do real work in this climate rather than just looking good — closing automatically against west-facing afternoon sun reduces the load on the air conditioning during exactly the hours it is struggling. We install Hunter Douglas motorized shades and Lutron lighting control, including RadioRA 3 and Caseta.

Away-mode behavior matters too, given how many valley homeowners travel. Lighting that follows a believable pattern, locks that confirm they are locked, cameras that record on motion and a thermostat that eases back while you are gone all make the house safer and cheaper to run.

    The Network Underneath

Automation is only as reliable as the network it sits on. Dozens of devices on marginal Wi-Fi produce exactly the flakiness people blame on smart homes generally. Before adding devices to a large system we check coverage, and we often put smart home devices on their own network segment so they do not compete with streaming and work traffic.

Because we install the networking, the cabling and the cameras as well, the automation is designed against infrastructure we know is sound rather than hoping the existing router copes.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can you integrate smart devices I already own?

Usually, yes. Most mainstream thermostats, locks, cameras, bulbs and shades can be brought onto a single platform. Occasionally a device uses a closed ecosystem that will not cooperate; when that happens we tell you before starting rather than after.

Which platform is best — Alexa, Google Home or Apple HomeKit?

The best one is generally the one your household already uses, since that is the ecosystem your phones and speakers live in. All three cover the basics well. Where the requirements are more demanding — many rooms, multiple subsystems, custom interfaces — an RTI control system gives a better result than any of them.

Can you install equipment I already bought?

Tell us the make and model during your free on-site consultation. Compatibility, condition and the installation scope are confirmed before we recommend using or replacing existing equipment.

Do you serve businesses as well as homes?

Yes. JDM Automations provides low voltage installation for homes and businesses in the Las Vegas valley and listed nearby service areas. We confirm the requirements for your property during the consultation.

    How long does installation take?

Timing depends on the equipment, cable routes, wall construction and access to the property. We confirm the expected installation schedule during your free on-site consultation rather than promising a fixed duration.

Do you offer a free on-site consultation?

Yes. Call (702) 874-8777 or request a consultation through our contact page. Our hours are Monday–Friday and Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Call or text during business hours.
