    UniFi installation Las Vegas

JDM Automations provides UniFi installation in Las Vegas for homes and businesses, also serving Henderson, Summerlin and North Las Vegas, starting with a free on-site consultation.

Ubiquiti UniFi gives homes and small businesses enterprise-grade networking and cameras under one controller, with no per-camera subscription. JDM Automations designs, installs and configures complete UniFi networks and UniFi Protect camera systems across the Las Vegas valley.

UniFi installation Las Vegas: planning your installation

UniFi puts the network and the cameras in the same place. One controller manages the gateway, the switches, every access point and every camera, with a single interface on desktop and mobile. For anyone who has juggled three different apps for a router, a mesh system and a camera brand, that consolidation is the main appeal.

The second appeal is recording without subscriptions. UniFi Protect stores footage locally on the console's drive, so adding cameras does not add a monthly bill. You own the equipment and the footage.

The third is that it scales. The same platform covers a modest home with two access points and four cameras, and an office with a rack, VLAN segmentation, dozens of drops and remote management. Growing the system means adding hardware, not replacing the platform.

    What a UniFi Installation Involves

Almost every UniFi deployment starts with cabling, because access points and cameras are powered over Ethernet. We run Cat6 to each camera and access point location, terminate into a patch panel, and feed everything from a PoE switch sized with headroom for the device count.

Then the console and gateway go in, the network is configured — networks for main, guest and devices, sensible Wi-Fi settings, remote access — and the cameras are adopted into Protect with recording modes, motion zones and notifications set up the way you want them.

Finally we tune. Access point transmit power and channels get adjusted to the building, camera angles get checked on the live view rather than guessed at from the ladder, and we walk you through the apps before leaving.

    UniFi in Las Vegas Conditions

Two local details shape these installs. Heat is the first: consoles, switches and PoE equipment need ventilated placement, not a sealed closet in an uninsulated garage. Sun is the second: outdoor cameras facing hard afternoon light need placement and mounting that accounts for glare and thermal load, and exposed cable needs the right jacket.

Construction also drives access point count. Stucco with wire lath and block walls attenuate signal heavily, so a valley home usually needs more access points than its square footage alone would suggest. We size for the building, not the brochure.

    Systems We Install

    UniFi Network

Gateway, switching and access points managed from one controller, configured for the building rather than left on defaults.

    UniFi Protect

Cameras recording locally to the console with no per-camera subscription, viewable live and in playback from the app.

    PoE Infrastructure

Cat6 runs and a properly sized PoE switch so cameras and access points take power and data from one cable.

    Mixed Systems

UniFi networking alongside other camera or automation brands where that combination suits the property better.

    How the Installation Works

Cat6 runs pulled and terminated to every access point and camera location.

    3. 3

      Deploy

Console, gateway, switch, access points and cameras installed and adopted.

    4. 4

      Configure

Networks, recording, motion zones and app access set up, then tuned on site.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does UniFi Protect require a monthly subscription?

No. UniFi Protect records locally to the drive in the console, so there is no per-camera monthly fee. You pay for the hardware and the storage you choose. Optional remote access features are available through Ubiquiti, but core recording and playback do not require a subscription.

Can I use UniFi cameras without a UniFi network?

UniFi Protect cameras need a UniFi console to record to, but the rest of the network does not have to be Ubiquiti. In practice most people end up running both because the single-controller experience is the main reason to pick the platform.
