    Structured cabling Las Vegas

JDM Automations provides structured cabling in Las Vegas for homes and businesses, also serving Henderson, Summerlin and North Las Vegas, starting with a free on-site consultation.

Structured cabling is what turns a pile of individual cables into a system: every data, camera, audio and control run brought back to one organized panel or rack, terminated the same way, tested and labeled so the building stays easy to work on for years.

Structured cabling Las Vegas: planning your installation

Instead of running cable point to point wherever it happens to be convenient, structured cabling uses a star layout. Every outlet in the building runs back to one central distribution point. That single decision is what makes a network expandable, diagnosable and cheap to change later.

In a home that central point is usually a structured wiring panel in a garage, closet or laundry room. In a business it is more often a wall-mounted or floor-standing rack. Either way, the same principles apply: consistent cable, consistent termination, clear labeling and documentation of what goes where.

Structured Cabling for Las Vegas Homes and Businesses

Many newer master-planned homes across the valley already arrive with Cat6 runs and a structured wiring panel from the builder. Those panels are frequently left half-finished — cables coiled and unterminated, no switch, no patch panel. Finishing that work properly is one of the most common jobs we do, and it is inexpensive relative to the value it unlocks.

Older homes usually have nothing, so we design the layout from scratch: pick the distribution point, plan the runs for data, cameras, access points, TVs and speakers, and install a panel or small rack sized for future additions. For offices and small commercial spaces we do the same thing with a rack, patch panels and cable management.

Whatever the building, we plan around the systems you want rather than just the ones you are buying today. The extra cost of pulling one additional cable during a job is trivial compared to opening walls again later.

Racks, Panels and Keeping Equipment Cool

Equipment location matters in this climate. Network gear, switches and NVRs generate heat, and a sealed closet in a Las Vegas garage in July is a hostile place for electronics. We choose locations with airflow, and add ventilation or fans to enclosures where the equipment load justifies it.

A tidy rack is not just cosmetic. Patch panels, service loops, cable management and labels mean that adding a camera or swapping a switch two years from now is a fifteen-minute job instead of an afternoon of tracing cables.

    How the Installation Works

    1. 1

      Design

We pick the distribution point and map every run the building needs now and soon.

    2. 2

      Rough-In

Cable pulled to each location, with open walls used wherever the project allows.

    3. 3

      Terminate

Panel, patch panel and outlets terminated consistently, equipment mounted and powered.

    4. 4

      Test & Document

Runs tested, labeled at both ends and documented so future changes are simple.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between structured cabling and just running Ethernet?

Running Ethernet is the act of pulling a cable between two points. Structured cabling is the overall design: a single central distribution point, consistent cable and termination standards, a patch panel, labeling and documentation. The cabling itself may be the same Cat6, but the organization is what makes the system maintainable.

Do I need a network rack in my house?

Not always. If you have a handful of drops, a modem, a router and a switch, a structured wiring panel in the wall is usually enough. A rack starts to make sense once you have a PoE switch, an NVR, multiple access points, an amplifier or AV gear — rack mounting keeps that equipment organized, ventilated and accessible.

Can you install equipment I already bought?

Tell us the make and model during your free on-site consultation. Compatibility, condition and the installation scope are confirmed before we recommend using or replacing existing equipment.

Do you serve businesses as well as homes?

Yes. JDM Automations provides low voltage installation for homes and businesses in the Las Vegas valley and listed nearby service areas. We confirm the requirements for your property during the consultation.

    How long does installation take?

Timing depends on the equipment, cable routes, wall construction and access to the property. We confirm the expected installation schedule during your free on-site consultation rather than promising a fixed duration.

Do you offer a free on-site consultation?

Yes. Call (702) 874-8777 or request a consultation through our contact page. Our hours are Monday–Friday and Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Call or text during business hours.
