    Cat6 installation Las Vegas

JDM Automations provides Cat6 installation in Las Vegas for homes and businesses, also serving Henderson, Summerlin and North Las Vegas, starting with a free on-site consultation.

Hardwired Ethernet is still the most reliable connection in any building. We run, terminate and test Cat6 and Cat6A drops in Las Vegas homes and offices — for offices, TVs, game rooms, access points, cameras and anything else that deserves a cable instead of Wi-Fi.

Cat6 installation Las Vegas: planning your installation

Wi-Fi has improved enormously, but it still shares airtime, degrades through stucco and block walls, and drops under load. A cable does not. For anything stationary — a desk, a media console, a console or gaming PC, an NVR, a TV that streams 4K — a hardwired drop removes an entire category of problems.

Ethernet also carries power. Power over Ethernet lets a single cable run both data and power to a Wi-Fi access point, a camera or a door reader, which is why almost every serious camera and Wi-Fi install starts with cable rather than wireless.

How We Install Ethernet in Las Vegas Homes

Most valley homes are single or two story with attic access, which is how the majority of our runs travel. We drop from the attic down interior wall cavities to a low-voltage bracket, then bring every run back to one central location — a structured wiring panel, a closet or a small rack. Each end gets terminated on a keystone jack or patch panel, then tested before we call it done.

Older homes with no attic access, block construction or tile roofing need more creative routing: along baseboards in raceway, through closets, or up from a crawl space. We will tell you at the walkthrough which rooms are straightforward and which ones are going to be difficult, so nothing is a surprise later.

Cable choice matters in this climate. Attic temperatures here get extreme in summer, so we use properly rated cable and avoid routing where heat or sun exposure will shorten its life. Outdoor and conduit runs get cable rated for that use.

Cat6, Cat6A and What You Actually Need

Cat6 comfortably handles gigabit across any normal household run and supports multi-gig over shorter distances. It is the right default for the large majority of home installations. Cat6A is thicker, shielded in most builds and holds 10 gigabit over the full run length — worth it for long commercial runs, backbone links between switches, or if you want the wiring to stay ahead of your internet service for a long time.

The honest answer for most homes is Cat6 everywhere, with Cat6A on the few runs that carry aggregated traffic. We are happy to explain the tradeoff on your specific layout rather than upselling the whole house.

      Walkthrough

We map where you want drops and check attic, wall and crawl space routes.

    2. 2

      Plan

Run count, cable type and a central location for the panel or rack, with a quote.

    3. 3

      Pull & Terminate

Cable pulled, jacks and patch panel terminated, wall plates fitted neatly.

    4. 4

      Test & Label

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to run Ethernet through a house?

Cost is driven by the number of drops, how long each run is, and how accessible the route is. A home with attic access and a central closet is far cheaper per drop than a slab-on-grade house with block walls and no attic. Cost per drop also falls as the number of drops rises, since the crew and setup are shared. We price after a walkthrough rather than quoting a figure that would not match your house.

    Cat6 or Cat6A — which should I choose?

Cat6 handles gigabit on any household run and multi-gig over shorter distances, and it is the practical choice for most homes. Cat6A is worth the extra cost on long runs, switch-to-switch backbone links and commercial installations where 10 gigabit across the full distance matters.
