WiFi and network installation Las Vegas: planning your installation
Local construction is not kind to wireless signal. Stucco over wire lath acts like a screen against radio waves, block and masonry walls absorb signal, and low-E window coatings reflect it. A single router in a corner of the house — which is where the internet service usually enters — is fighting all of that at once.
Layout makes it worse. Long single-story floor plans, detached casitas, garages, pool areas and backyards are all common here, and all sit well outside the useful range of one router. The fix is almost never a bigger router; it is more access points, placed properly, each fed by a cable.
